Vapor Visuals: Siphon Draw Trail
Hey there vape fans! This week we went for an adventure on the Siphon Draw Trail, in Lost Dutchman State Park. Oh man, let me tell you all, this was one grueling 6-hour hike. Let me also say, that although the hike was only about 6 miles, it is not for the faint of heart, or week of legs. A majority of the hike consists of climbing up the 1100 ft elevation gain on lots of flat rocks with little to no traction. One reason for this is where the trail’s name comes from, Siphon Draw. When it rains the water is siphoned into the canyon and drawn over the slick rock. After a few stops to take some photos along they way, we finally made it to the top and had a beautiful view of the area below. This has been my favorite hike so far, and I hope you all enjoy the adventure with me through these photos. So, without further delay, here is a map to the park and away we go!
For this journey we decided to start early to try and beat the heat. Always a smart choice when hiking in the desert.
After starting in the parking lot we soon got a closer look at the rock face we would soon be heading up.
This week, my friend and fellow MBVer, Zac, came along to keep me company and to add to your viewing pleasure.
The early morning provided with some great color to the landscape as it started to peek out from behind the mountains.
To me, entering the basin felt like entering a lost world.
This week, I also brought some new hardware, like the Lush RDA, to show off.
The Lush comes in 11 different and fun colors. I for one like this Zombie Splatter look.
Of course, I need a mod so I could use the RDA, so I brought the new Sigelei Fuchai
As we continued our journey up the mountain, we soon found ourselves in a bit of a caravan of other hikers.
It felt a bit like a pilgrimage. We would occasionally stop so I could take some photos, and rest a bit while other hikers went by. Then we would end up passing them later as they took their turn for a break.
But everyone was looking out for everyone on the mountain. People were always there to lend a hand in a tight spot. That in fact is probably one of my favorite parts about hiking. Almost everyone you will meet on a trail is going to be friendly and helpful. It’s hard to be in a bad mood when you’re enjoying the great outdoors.
Looking back after a few more stop along the way up, we could tell that we were getting close to the top.
And what a sight it was. Not sure if you can see, the white building is about where we started.
But, before we set off on the last little bit of our journey to the peek,. we decided it was a great time for a quick vape. Especially with this view.
Apart from being able to breath easier, and do more physically demanding activities, vaping also reduces the amount of cigarette butts you see while hiking. We were dripping, Bloodbath for this hike.
And now, without further delay, and one more product plug 😉
Here comes the view from on top of the world!
Again, this was the most difficult hike I have gone on in a while, let alone in Arizona. But the view and feeling you get when you reach the top is like nothing else. I can’t wait to get back and do it again!
