Resumption of California Orders and How to Order

Mt Baker Vapor is pleased to announce the resumption of orders from the State of California. Starting now, your favorite hardware and Mt Baker Vapor e liquids are only a few clicks away! We would like to thank all of our loyal customers from California for their patience while we adjusted our ordering system.

While we wish we could say that California orders are returning without any changes, there will now be new guidelines for ordering from California. This is due to legislation enacted by the state’s government. A full overview of the relevant legislation is available from SFATA: California e-Cigarette/Vapor Product Legislation Analysis. To comply with these laws, we have partnered with BlueCheck Age Verification. All California customers will now go through the BlueCheck verification process before being allowed to purchase at Mt Baker Vapor.

The basic requirements for what you will need to provide for verification are:

Date of Birth

Phone Number

Last 4 Digits of Social Security Number

Here is what the process will look like for entering this information once you are ready to checkout. First you will click the “I am 21+” checkbox:

Clicking that box will trigger a pop-up asking you to verify your age:

Screen Shot 2016-06-22 at 3.45.52 PM

You will then enter your name, date of birth, the last four digits of your Social Security number, and your phone number:

With this information, BlueCheck should be able to verify most customers. Once verified, a code will be sent to your mobile phone. The message should look like this (the code is one time use, do not try to use the code pictured below):

You will then return to the page and enter the code in a pop-up that looks like the one below:

Once that is completed, you will be verified to purchase at Mt Baker Vapor!

Currently, this process will need to be completed every time you check out. However, we are working on an update to our website that will allow this to be a one-time occurrence. Once that is in place we will notify all effected customers.

PLEASE NOTE: Under some circumstances, you may by required to upload a photo of your ID and a selfie or yourself with your ID. In this circumstance you will be asked to provide:

An email for contact

A photo of a ID card, passport, or drivers license

A selfie of yourself with your photo ID

After entering this information, you will receive an email at the address you provided. It will look like this:

After a short wait time, you should receive another email that looks like this:

You will then need to go through the checkout process and enter your name in the age verification checkout box. This will trigger a text to your phone with a code, and you will then be able to order. Please keep in mind that the billing and shipping address you provide must match the address on the ID you provided.

We understand that these requirements are extensive, but it is what we must do to provide service to California customers while remaining compliant with the law. We know that the security of the information which you provide is of utmost importance and we promise you that your information will be kept secure on both our end and via BlueCheck.

If you have any questions regarding this new system, you can reach out to us via support@mtbakervapor.com or over the phone at 1(877)565-VAPE. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this change in orders. Mt Baker Vapor is committed to following the law while offering our quality vaping products to customers across the world.

It’s great news that we Californians can now buy from you again. I’ve been rationing my rapidly vanishing bottle of your Cloudy Beaches juice, hoping that I wouldn’t run out before you got all the legal stuff sorted.

But, as usual, the incredible hypocrisy of the anti-vaping legislation still exists, since it’s still far easier for me to buy a case of Marlboros online than it is to buy a small bottle of ejuice from you, even if it’s got zero nicotine content.

    Go figure.

  • Justin says:

    Thank God. Welcome back!

    Dr Mt Baker Vapor:

I am having a problem understanding what needs to be done with this verification process. is there a link to click on or??? I am 61 years old and can have problem with this. could you please send me a link or clarify what I have to do.

    Thank you

    • Tim Mechling says:

I would contact Customer Service for any and all concerns related to California orders. They can walk you through the process and troubleshoot any problems that may arise.

  • Mark says:

This is great but the flavors i want are out of stock!

  • Jared Ward says:

Thank you Mt. Baker for being so quick to get the age verification system implemented! I ran out of juice right as the legislation came down and had to go to a local shop. It cost me $50 for one 30 ml and two 15 ml bottles. Needless to say I am extremely excited to be able to purchase from you folks again. Your quality and value are unbeatable!

  • Jay Still says:

Ordered complete GWAR line System worked great Many thanks

  • Thank Heaven’s you’re back. I was so afraid I might have to start smoking cigarette’s again after quitting 3 years ago. The government (as a whole) sticks it’s nose into places & people’s personal business, YET, they can NOT pass legislation /laws prohibiting the sale’s, use & ownership of “semi” & “fully” automatic weapon’s which are made SOLELY with the intention to kill, mame & otherwise cause great harm to our society at large. The massacre at the Florida nightclub (Pulse) should’ve shook are lawmaker’s to their rotten core !!! Instead, in state after state, they concentrate their energies on vapor user’s, vapor products, shop’s & store’s, on-line dealer’s such as Mt. Baker. Obviously bullet’s & cigarette’s KILL. Vaping has NEVER killed anyone (that I know of, yet). The absolute plain & simple common sense that our lawmaker’s in the United States just DON’T have & just DON’T get !!!

  • Dominick Lam says:

Only if the system worked. Everytime I try to check out there is an error code that pops up. It said to try again, and I have been trying for the last 3 days to place an order.

    • Tim Mechling says:

Perhaps one of our wonderful Customer Service representatives can help you solve the problem! No two computers are alike, and we’d be happy to help you troubleshoot.

  • Robert Vaughn says:

Glad you guys did this for your Cali customers. It shows how much you care! As people figure it out, it will be easier for them. Thank you mt baker for having the best customer service and doing everything in your power for the vaping community!!

  • Tedd Herndon says:

    Thanks MtBakerVapor:

For letting me know that the e juices on you Sale Page are no longer going to be available I just bought 14 of the large bottles of my favorite flavor. I am so sorry to here that you will not be making these no more. 🙁 I don’t know what I am going to do after those are gone. I hope that this problem with the FDA will work out for everyone. I don’t see me or my wife going back to the analogs and I hope no one else does either. Good luck to all the Vapors out there, We need to fight for the right to VAPE!!!!!!

  • Diane Rateike says:

Thank you so much for taking the time for set this up for us in California. It really does mean a lot that you did this for us, that you have done all this for your loyal California customers.

  • LIN says:

    well done!! MBV

  • Laura Duncan says:

I received three emails asking me to review my purchase for 10% off my next purchase. I’m stoked to order again but I only order Insomnia Child juices at this time. If I send a response to those emails, will the coupon be valid for Insomnia Child juices? Thanks

    • Josh Hanna says:

Unfortunately, the 10% off code is for Mt Baker Vapor products and not 3rd party juices 🙁 Insomnia Child is a great brand and has some really nice flavors. I wish we could do that for their juice.

  • Adam says:

    Crisis averted, thanks!

  • I’ve been waiting for weeks, and now that it’s back up, the system won’t let me order. After My age is verified there are no further options. I’ve already been through customer service who told me to try again later. I’ve already paid for it, and just can’t seem to place an order on this site. This just totally sucks,

    • Josh Hanna says:

I looked in our system, and it looks like all we have to do is give you a call between 5-9 at night to verify. The new law states we have to do this. I spoke to customer service, and they said you should be receiving a call within the next few days at most.

  • Jerry says:

I’m totally cool with the verification. As long as the juice stays at a reasonable price, it’s a small price to pay.

    • Josh Hanna says:

We are glad to hear that! We know it is a pain and apologize for that but we do want to be around for all of our customers for a long time 🙂

  • William says:

Out of all the comments here I see none that are what I’m experiencing. I placed an order Tuesday the 28th, went through the Age Verification bit, code was sent to my cell, entered that, order went through, got the confirmation email for my order. Around mid-day today I hadn’t received an email it was shipped and out of curiosity I logged on here to check the status. Status says “disputed”. Not knowing what that entails, I used your help/chat function and was told there’s hundreds of orders that are disputed, but no more info other than that. Really? Please fix this mess, or at least let people know something, a timeframe… anything… so we can make purchase decisions elsewhere. Having an order in limbo is annoying :-\

  • kenny says:

I was wondering what took so long for my order to ship. Usually it arrives in a couple days.

    • Josh Hanna says:

If you are in California, we have to call you from 5-9pm. The new regulations they put out require businesses to do this. I am sorry it took so long 🙁

  • Tom says:

requiring my SS last 4 is a deal breaker. I’ll be shifting my business. Sorry.

    • Josh Hanna says:

We are sorry to hear this. The last 4 of your social no one can do anything with but we understand. We wish we did not have to do this but a lot of companies are moving to verify to become legal in CA.

  • Pranav says:

Can some one tell me what a ‘Disputed’ order status means? My BlueCheck verification went thru with SS number and my credit card got charged. It’s sitting in that status since yesterday.

    • Josh Hanna says:

Disputed means Bluecheck flagged the order. We are handling the disputed orders now. We do have a lot of them and we are trying to work through them as fast as possible. I want to apologize for any and all inconvenience this has caused.

  • Charles says:

I live in Washington. Why do I need to verify my age? I’m one of the unlucky that can’t be automatically verified and I’m not willing to send them photos. Hopefully you change that so I can start buying again from you guys again.

    • Josh Hanna says:

Washington passed new laws that say we have to age verify. We are really sorry that we have to do this but we want to stay compliant so we can be around to serve everyone for years to come.

  • jason says:

Whats going on with you checkout page??? Major Frustration on my part since I’ve been trying to place orders for over 2 weeks with no success, keep getting the disputed status. Every time I get to your checkout page I get an error right off the bat, think it has to do with my address being in California. I’ve tried IE, Chrome, Firefox, & Safari with no luck, you guys have to know something is wrong, but nothing is being fixed.

Finally got the age verification last week and went through it but keep being put into a loop when being sent back to your site to finish transaction. my only option is to re-verify over and over with no way to finish my transaction. I have successfully verified because I got and email from bluecheck stating so, but no orders ever go through.

I’ve been buying from MBV for a while, and am now being forced to look for a new company. Your customer service reps are almost worthless, offering no alternative other than to refund and try again.

    • Josh Hanna says:

We are trying to resolve this problem with Bluecheck. We do not know why it keeps doing this but we are working on it. We are sorry this is happening and hope you can keep us in mind when buying your e liquid. Hopefully this will be all fixed soon.

      • jason says:

It don’t believe it’s bluecheck, I thinks its your checkout page. I might sound like I’m mad but I’m just trying to help get my favorite site back.

I just tried buying something by checking out as guest and as soon as I put in CA in the state I get an error. This may be caused by not knowing how to handle the bluecheck once CA is imputed. It doesn’t even give me the option to verify my age, but just lets me pay.

How about requiring UPS adult signature required as the only shipping option to California. I cant for the life of me figure out how these people are actually saying they bought stuff shipped to California, because I sure cant. I’m in IT and know programming and cant figure out how it can take this long to figure out what seems like simple problem. I can buy wine online delivered to my house way easier then buying vape juice at the moment. Again not mad just trying to help.

        • Josh Hanna says:

We are just as confused as you are right now. We have our team working to try and get this fixed as fast possible. We want to thank you for your patience and also for this information. I have provided it to our IT Department and maybe it will help them. We want to be up and running for all of our customers, and this is putting a stint in the process of providing our products to everyone.

  • Mark says:

Having to upload CDL is too risky and too many hoops to jump through. It’s been great, but time to move on…..

    • Jesse says:

Absolutely this. I tried the verification thing and it didn’t auto verify for whatever reason and asked to upload two photos, with an ID and a selfie; yeah um, nope. I’m sorry, you were a great website for all my vape needs. But uploading photos, lol hell no. I hope things work out. I may try again in the future in a few months and hopefully the age verification is more streamlined or the auto verify actually works without needing a photo upload.

  • wes says:

All sites will be required that sell online to verify under new fda regs,
It will be common place. I would suggest every one comply now and get use to the government getting onto our business.

Mtbaker is only obeying the law and there are things to get worked out. All online juice companies will follow suit in the next week or so or they will not be in compliance with the new FDA laws in effect as of Aug8th 2016..

Please be patient as all of us juice sellers online have to get and receive 3rd party verification before we can ship the product to you.

  • FUCK MT says:

this is probably the most fucking retarded process to buy vape juice.

    • Josh Hanna says:

I do not like the language but I will tell you that if you order from an online retailer after the 8th, you will have to age verify and this is the only process that is compliant at this time.

  • Aki says:

This stupid age verification isn’t working for me, says it sent me a code and never did. It’s been like this for days.
