New Age Verification Process

Mt Baker Vapor works diligently to keep vapor products out of the hands of minors and takes cyber-security seriously. In the interest of an improved user experience, we have evaluated customer feedback and your concerns regarding our current age verification program.  As such, Mt Baker Vapor is researching new options to meet the age verification requirements.  Therefore, we are taking temporary action to give you a streamlined, user-friendly process.

We will continue to search for an age verification program that will be simpler while continuing to meet all of your needs and federal requirements.

Thank you for helping us improve our processes! Visit MtBakerVapor.com to check out the new process.

  • Bryan Varnado says:

So what is the new process?

    • Corey Gefroh says:

No more photo requirements if you live outside of California! Just input date of birth and confirm that you have read the policy notice with a check of a box. Simple!

  • Mike says:

Last July a blog post here said WA state law requires additional verification for WA residents. Blog was “WA regulations and how to order” by Josh Hanna. I have just made my first order since then and live in WA state. I asked in a chat here and was told all I had to do was verify my age when getting on the site here. Which one is it? I have not done nor been asked to do the additional verifications as mentioned in the post from last July. I just want to be sure everything’s in order.

    • Corey Gefroh says:

We have a new verification process! For WA, you should only be asked to submit your date of birth! Hope this makes this easier!

  • Travis LaVelle says:

The old Bluecheck verification process was absolute garbage. I never got the code on my archaic flip phone and had to call MBV to get a code directly from them(twice because I accidentally hit the back button on my browser). The one and only positive thing I can say about it was that it finally motivated me to make the leap to DIY liquid. Ironically it was less of a hassle to order 100mg/ml nicotine (essentially poison) from another site than diluted ready to vape liquid from MBV during the Bluecheck verification era.

    • Corey Gefroh says:

I think you will find the new process way more user-friendly and efficient! Hope to see you return as a customer!

  • Pete Collins says:

International customers can not fill in their date of birth

  • vincent villani says:

I have tried several times to order stuff. I keep getting instructions to take a selfie. I cannot do that as I do not have cell service at my remote town. This is my last try. If I do not get, an easy, way to order,,,,like a person to take my info, and payment, I’m done with Mt. Baker. I did call the support line twice, still could not do it. Vince

    • Corey Gefroh says:

Unless you reside in California, you should no longer be required to submit photo identification! Hope to see you again Vince!

  • Rick says:

    Great !
The last one was a pain, with site’s timeout before I could get all of my info together.
    Now- I (a 60 y/o) can order again. 🙂
    Thanks for listening MBV !

  • Jay Koch says:

What happens to the information that was used with the other age verification program? I sent copy of license etc.

  • Bobbie says:

With the age verification process, does this mean I can once again order products that contain nicotine and have them shipped into the state of Arkansas, or is that still restricted?

  • Jerry Baker says:

Greatly appreciated. I hate to give out too much personal information over the net but I also have to thank you for keeping this stuff out of the kids hands, especially the bulk liquid.

  • Stuart Gibson says:

Bluecheck was horrible, it caused me to order from another website 3 times out of my last 5 orders

  • BBaz says:

The age verification is a necessary step. But, with all the news of hackers and loss of personal information, I hate giving up personal info over the internet – especially to third party firms I do not know. One way you can test if they have access to it already is give them close but not exactly right info. If they fail you – they probably already have your information through one of the big clearing houses.

  • Suzanne Leavey says:

What was the problem with the existing process? I found it to be very quick when placing an order.

  • Tary Powers says:

I hope this works. I sure have missed and spent too much for too long. Thanks for trying!

  • Jamie says:

Good because the old one had me stop ordering from you guys for a while now I may have to try it again.. It took me 2 days last time I tried to order from you guys to get a verification.

  • Rick says:

Your Age verification is a insult to people who have been dealing with you for years.

    • Corey Gefroh says:

BlueCheck is no longer being used unless you live in California. Currently, all you need to do is enter your birth date! Hope this helps!

      • Linda says:

I have been ordering from Mt. Baker for several years with no problem. In the beginning Blue Check gave me no problems with the age verification. The problem happened when I changed my cell phone number…there is no way to tell them you’ve done this, so the code continues to go to the old number. Eventually, they told me I had to send them a selfie holding my driver license. WHAT! You’ve got to be kidding. A company I’ve never heard of is going to get a selfie of me with my license, the last 4 digits of my SS number and my credit card number. I’d have to be an idiot to provide that perfect recipe for identification theft. I trust Mt Baker, but NOT Blue Check.

I am 59 years old, and live in California. They verified my age several times, but then wanted even more information. I have ordered vaping supplies from other companies (in California), and they did not request such invasive information, so you do not HAVE to use them for people in CA. It is sad that I have to spend more money and not receive the liquid I love from your company.

By the way…if their service is so good, have them explain why I could purchase using someone else’s ID with no selfie requirement. I believe it is my age, and that is even more unfortunate.

  • Sam says:

I like the verification process, it’s easy to use, the website is quick and efficient. Really great job on implementing this process.

  • Robert says:

Was our information and pictures deleted from bluecheck?

  • Ken C says:

I’m glad you guys got rid of blucheck. I used to be a regular customer but stopped ordering from here because I wasn’t comfortable handing out a picture of my ID and social security number online.

  • Sakda detsouvanh says:

    that’s cool

  • David says:

Okay, I’m skeptical but willing to give you another chance. I’m 60 years old and found blucheck both invasive, demeaning and unconstitutional. In addition, third party collection of documents and personal identifiable information without accountability was a “NO GO”. I found other online vendors much more accommodating during your detour into state controlled business practices. Socialism sucks doesn’t it?

    • Corey Gefroh says:

Welcome back David! We never meant to seem unconstitutional, our main priority is to keep our product out of the hand of minors since this is the fastest way for any vape business to be closed down.

  • Joey says:

Just wish that we could click a simple yes or no to enter the MBV site and get on with age verification when an order is to be placed. This is how it works for most of the vape sites I visit when just looking around. (And by the way, I’ve not yet found anything to purchase from those other sites due to their high prices or poor reviews.)

  • Justin says:

Thank you for fixing the process it’s good to be back

  • Bryan Miller says:

I find it pretty ridiculous that to receive products in California we now need to wait for a phone call before any vendor can ship our products. this causes a 24 hour delay to receive products, we already went through age verification what does leaving me a voicemail do?

    • Corey Gefroh says:

It is a rather cumbersome process and we absolutely hope the California Regulations will let up a bit so that this will not be needed from our loyal California customers in the future.

      • Linda says:

Why do You have to use this service in California? No other vaping supply companys uses Blue Check that I have dealt with. They verify your age, but they do not ask for the selfie, driver license, and SS # as Blue Check does, so it’s not actually true that you have to use them. I guess losing good customers from California is better than losing good customers from everywhere else.

I hope you realize that these days, losing loyal customers at all can really end up hurting your reputation and business.

  • Peter says:

I have my photo driver’s licence and Passport ready to send to prove I am 59 years old. But as I am not a U.S. citizen yet I don’t have a social security number, but I have a Florida address. How can I continue to be a Mt Baker Vapor customer? Who do I send my proof of age and photo ID to that will enable me to complete the ordering process on your site without having to enter a social security number?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
