E-Juice Flavor Shots Explained

Alrighty vapers, today we will  be discussing what the flavor shot option is and how those added shots will affect your juice overall.

Nic Juice

Vaping is very subjective. Like any flavor, whether it be food, beverage, or otherwise, everyone has a unique preference. We want you to be able to have the ability to customize your juice to meet your palate, so we offer a variety of different blends as well as the ability to add “flavor shots” to your bottles.

A flavor shot, is a portion of flavor that is determined by the size of the bottle. Our flavors are put together in an amount that we have determined to be optimal for the concentration of the flavoring used. However, because many people have different preferences when it comes to their tastes, we offer the ability to add additional flavor shots to the bottle to help intensify the flavor. Because these flavor shots are proportionate to the size of the bottle, there is no need to increase the amount of additional shots with the size. If you find that there is a flavor that is slightly weak for your palate, but it’s perfect with 2 extra shots of flavor, then you can rest assured that your two shots will be just as potent in the 30ml bottle as they are in a 15ml.

Along with flavor shots, your PG (propylene glycol) VG (vegetable glycerin) ratio also must be considered when finding your optimal flavor intensity. As the PG content increases, so the the intensity of the flavor. As the VG content increases, the flavor will be diminished, so finding the perfect balance is key. Our house blend is equal parts PG/VG (50/50), and it is our recommended starting point for determining your preferences.

Something additional to keep in mind, is that the flavoring concentrates we use come in a suspension of Propylene Glycol (PG). This means that if you elect to add additional flavor shots to your liquid, you will be increasing the PG in the ratio of the liquid as well. This means that a flavor shot is a ‘double-whammy’ of flavor intensity, and each individual shot has a noticeable impact on the strength of the flavor. Too much flavoring can overpower the liquid, and have the opposite effect of what you are trying to achieve (overwhelming your taste/olfactory senses, resulting in a muted flavor) or just an off or bad taste. As such, we always recommend trying a liquid without extra shots, at first, in order to determine what works best for your tastes.

Hopefully this helps clarify the flavor shot option for your e-juice. What is your preferred blend and flavor shot quantity? Let us know why in the comments below!

No idea what all this means, its way too technical and in-house in the explanation. Do I add 1 drop or a whole bottle to a 15 or 30 ml bottle of juice?

  • Chico says:

i recently purchased some liquid and added 3 extra shots and it’s too much flavor! My question is what do I do to weaken the flavore a little ? I don’t want so much flavor and didn’t really know what inward doing since I’m new to all of this!

In the future I recommend ordering all your juice with 0 extra shots. After some steep time if you find you need more flavor you can always buy the flavor in a concentrate and add more if you need it, but it is a little harder to take away the flavor. You can order some unflavored base liquid and add it to the juice in question in order to dilute the flavor.

Can you tell me how many mL’s is it per shot or the percentage of your flavoring to the rest of the solution.
I know it says 15%-40%, but what I want to know is exactly what you guys use for two extra shots, 30%, 32.5%?

  • Dustin says:

Ordered about 6 different bottles with +1 flavor shot in each, and they still just taste bland. With the fruity hoops I get a little bit of flavor then it just just tastes like bland vapor.

  • Mia says:

I ordered 8 different flavors recently, 4 fruit, banana foster, cheesecake, cotton candy and bubble gum. I ordered them in different pg/vg ratios, all 6 mg nic. All the flavors very muted, despite adding 2 extra flavor shots each. I actually regret jumping the gun and getting bigger bottles instead of the smallest, for a test run on each one. Could there have been a misunderstanding about how much flavor I requested?

  • Reece Glynn says:

Hi, does adding flavor shots decrease the nic level? I know it will decrease VG levels, but was wondering if it would also lower nic. Thanks.

  • chris reiss says:

thanks for this – i just ordered my first 250 ml bottle and was wondering how many extra shots I needed and this cleared it right up. “The same number you usually get with smaller bottles.”

Doing it proportionally is definitely the way to go.

Please let me know I if and when flavors are available like butterscotch or caramel. I would buy in 30mg size. I haven’t used this site before. But the juices or shots look so delicious!
    Thanks

    Hello!
So I just ordered my second bottle of Hawk Sauce. (Love it) this time I also ordered a Hawk Sauce flavor shot. My question is do I add like a drop or two to the Hawk sauce bottle. Or do you mean like a drop or 2 to each tank I vape? I know it’s all to personal taste , but clarifying to each tank or whole bottle will help. I don’t want to ruin it. Thank you!

  • Ray Squires says:

Hey Guys, just a quick question- How long should you let the e juice steep after adding a drop or 2 of flavor shot? I really appreciate you guys, have been a loyal customer for 4 years or so. Thanks again

  • Mike says:

So…how many 30ml hawk sauce flavor shots do I need to come close to what you guys use?
