Welcome to another edition of Dear Summit! This week we have some great questions that I’m excited to answer for you. With all of the new options constantly emerging, we can’t help but have questions throughout the exciting journey that is vaping. Mt. Baker Vapor is here to answer all your questions and help you throughout your journey! So, without further ado, let’s get to the questions.

How often should I change my coils?

This question is one that, unfortunately, does not have a definitive answer. The life of your coil differs depending on how often you use it, the type of e-juice you’re vaping, and many more factors. That being said, I would suggest either cleaning or changing out your coils with flavor changes so you don’t have an unpleasant flavor blend. The real tell when it’s time to change out your coil is when you notice a distinctive difference in the flavor of your e-juice. Sometimes it will start to taste almost burnt. That’s a sure sign it’s time for a change. Trial and error is the best way to find the perfect timing for your vaping style and the lifespan of your coils.

I’ve heard a lot about Formaldehyde and Diacetyl in E-Juice but I’m not sure what to think. I know those are bad things, but does that mean vaping is more dangerous than smoking?

First of all, no, it does not mean that these two things prove that vaping is more dangerous than smoking. Allow me to address these two issues one at a time, because the specifics are different. There was one study done that showed Formaldehyde in vapor when the e-juice was vaped at high temperatures. However, it was later shown that the coil they were using was not capable of maintaining the high temperatures they were using it at. Meaning they were burning the coil and creating severe dry hits that contained formaldehyde. All other tests came back formaldehyde free. That leads me to believe that unless your preference is to vape a dry, burnt hit that is nearly unbearable at all times, you will not be exposed to formaldehyde in your vaping experience. For more information on this specific issue, see our blog – The Truth Behind the Formaldehyde Scare.  When it comes to Diacetyl the reality is, very few e-juices have actually been shown to have diacetyl in them. However, those that did had 110 times less than what is found in a traditional cigarette. So, if you’re a former smoker, even if the e-juice does contain diacetyl, it’s a significant amount lower than anything you would get from a traditional cigarette. To learn more about The Truth about Diacetyl check out our blog.

Does the price of your e-juice reflect the quality I should expect as a new customer?

The term “You get what you pay for” does not apply to our e-juice. The owners, James & Jesse wanted to create a quality product that they could offer the public at a price that would be affordable for any smoker (of legal age) interested in making the switch to vaping to be able to do so. Vaping has changed their lives, as well as many of the lives of the people who work here at Mt. Baker Vapor. Our mission is to make that reality a financially available possibility to others. So, we lowered our prices, not our quality. We work very hard to provide delicious e-juice that gives you the feeling and flavor you expect based on the descriptions of what we have created. So, don’t let the low price fool you! This is great e-liquid provided by members of the community that genuinely care about making vaping available.

What can we do about the pending legislation throughout the country?

The most important thing you can do as a part of the vaping community is to contact your local legislators and educate them about the realities surrounding vaping. Most of the legislators don’t know much about vaping, so please remember to be polite and educational. Share a bit of your personal story, and how vaping has positively affected your life. Also, be sure to let them know that you’re a registered voter within their district. This is very important is it will add weight to what you have to say, and what you’re asking for. Always remember, this is not a personal attack against you, most legislators truly believe they are doing this to protect their citizens. The best thing you can do is be polite, respectful, honest, and upfront about how vaping has affected your life and the truth behind the media frenzy scare stories. The more voices speaking out, the more impact we can have.

As always, thank you to those who submitted questions this week. Be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you are curious to learn about vaping or Mt Baker Vapor! We love hearing from our community and I love answering your questions.

Well it looks like that the State of Indiana has passed a bill that demands, in my opinion, unreasonable hoops for you folks to jump through. The bill takes effect July 1st. My question is will I still be able to get my juice from you folks or do I need to order mass quantities before that date?

    • At this time, we should be able to sell to Indiana residents since we already comply with a slew of what was proposed in the bill. I mean… if you would like to stock up… you know we would never complain ;-p! Haha, but you do not have to worry, if a policy changes in a state, we will make sure to let our customers know that reside within that specific state, what will be changing on our end and if there needs to be any doomsday preparation needing to be done!
