Dear Summit E-Cigarette Q&A
Welcome back vape fans, to Dear Summit. For those of you who saw us mention the popular newspaper column last week, I wanted to clarify something. A newspaper was a news delivery system of old, where people went out on their front porch in the mornings to find a bundle of journalistic writings. It was printed on real paper, with ink that would come off on your hands. Think of it as a type of local internet announcement, only without the search functions. But I digress! Thank you for the great questions this week, let’s get to those answers….
What is in an e-liquid to make it a plastic tank cracker?
It really depends on the acidity level of the e-juice flavor. Most citrus and/or cinnamon flavors will have a higher acidity that results in the possibility of damage to a plastic tank. Furry friends like me can also cause serious damage to your plastic tanks, so be sure to keep them out of our reach!
What PG/VG blend would you recommend for SubTanks?
My human uses a 20 PG/80 VG blend. It is a high enough VG ratio to allow for the clouds she’s looking for, but also has the PG to really keep the flavor strong. Max VG is also a good option, if the end goal is the biggest clouds possible or if you prefer a softer throat hit. It really all comes down to your personal preference however, and what you’re looking to achieve with your vape. I would recommend experimenting with different blends to find the one that works best for you.
What is the best way to clean a plastic tank?
Nothing beats hot water and a towel! It is also great for cleaning your plastic tanks. If you have a lingering scent in your plastic tank, try using rubbing alcohol instead of hot water, but be sure to get it all rinsed off before you fill your tank. If you still have a lingering e-juice scent after washing it with rubbing alcohol, it’s possible the e-juice has eaten away at the plastic. I would recommend getting a glass tank to avoid this issue.
Are you really discontinuing 190 e-juice flavors?
Recently a list of all the flavors that have been discontinued over the past several years by the Mt Baker Vapor Wholesale Department was posted online, and it seems to have caused some confusion and concern. We would like to alleviate these concerns with some clarification. First, these flavors were not all discontinued at the same time. This is a list of every flavor that has ever been discontinued by Mt. Baker Vapor. Meaning, it’s a progression of flavors over the past several years that have been eliminated. There are several reasons for this, however, the most recent reduction in the total amount of flavors we offer is in response to a possible regulation by the FDA. One of the requirements being considered under FDA legislation would require that every flavor, in every nicotine level and pg/vg blend would require an independent test and approval for sale. As an example, Hawk Sauce would require 24 different tests just to keep it available for purchase. Each of these tests are the financial responsibility of the seller (us) and are not inexpensive. As a result, we are reducing the total number of flavors we offer on our site, gradually, to ensure that what we do offer is financially manageable should this proposal become a requirement. We choose which flavors will be eliminated based on a number of factors, including sales volume. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Why do some products have a colored border?
These borders are to offer you information regarding what may be happening with your favorite e-juice. I have included a description of the borders below, and more detailed information can be found on a previous blog: New Borders & What they Mean.
- Blue Border –Identifies this product as a Best Seller. So, if you’re looking for a new flavor to try, or what hardware is popular, this can be used to find popular options.
- Orange Border –Identifies this product as Almost Gone. This means we will be discontinuing this flavor once our current stock hits zero. Be sure and stock up on your favorite’s when you see this.
- Red Border –Identifies this product as Out of Stock. Previously, when we were out of stock, we would remove the item from the website. Now we simply add a border to let you know we don’t have it now, but we will again soon.
