Why Do You Vape?

In a recent study, researchers analyzed over 3 million public tweets about e-cigarettes and discovered that the reasons why people vape are shifting.

How would you describe yourself when it comes to vaping?

Are you the twin brother of Scrooge, the traditional penny pincher who vapes because of the low cost? It is the broad spectrum of vaping flavors that intrigues you or is it the feeling of security with vaping that piques your interest? What about environment? Perhaps you love the idea of having freedom to choose where you vape? Or maybe you love inhaling the wonderful vape aroma your atomizer produces? Did vaping turn you away from cigarettes? Is vaping enhancing your social image? Whatever the case may be, you’re a vaper now and that’s a beautiful thing.

Nevertheless, I find it intriguing to learn about some of the real-life reasons that drive people to vape. Below are a few personal testimonies we pulled from our Facebook page detailing some of the reasons why people have turned to vaping. I found these testimonials very interesting. I’m sure you will, too!

Steve Malanowski

“I started vaping to quit smoking tobacco cigarettes. I currently vape because I like the taste. Right now, I vape a lot of Dream Tea & Moo Juice. I have been vaping for about 6 years but exclusively for a little over a year.”

Tracy Hale

“I started vaping to stop smoking. I have gone back to cigs a few times. Smoking is my go-to when I’m anxious or stressed. Trying again with the patch and using the mod. I love my new e-juice. It’s called, ‘Summer Drink’. I hope I can quit smoking. Tired of coughing in my chest and my head hurting.”

Rickey Johnson

“Back when I started, most devices were pens and most flavors were tobacco based with maybe some menthol or other flavoring mixed in. Good taste wasn’t really an option. Good clouds weren’t either. Still, it tasted better than ashtray flavor.”

Jason Lopardo

“Vaping helped me quit smoking. I was up to three packs a day. Went to my vape shop and got all set up. He told me to try some menthol juice which I did. And then after a few days I was all out and then I got into all the flavors and let me tell you, I can’t stop vaping now. I have so many flavors to choose from, lol. I love my vape. It doesn’t leave my hand.”

Shawn Cross

“I started vaping on April 3, 2010, a long time ago. And I still vape zero nicotine. I started vaping to quit a 28-year smoking habit and it worked! My first vape and my last cigarette occurred simultaneously. I’ve seen a lot of changes in the vape marketplace in seven years.”

Whatever keeps you vaping, keep calm and vape on!  Let us know in the comments below why you choose to vape, and perhaps what got you started.

  1. I started vaping to help my anxiety. My aunt is a longtime vaper who used vaping to quit smoking. She would let me try some of the flavors she liked because she vapes 0 nicotine. It made me feel calm so I got a small pen mod and loved it. I’ve been vaping about 4 months now and am saving money to get a bigger and better mod.

  2. Lost my job and at 3 packs a day for 40+ years, smoking wasn’t an option any more. I love the act of smoking as much as I ‘need’ the nicotine. So vaping was the best option. It’s way cheaper, I don’t stink anymore and I get to keep the habit. It also can turn into a relatively cheap hobby if sorts by collecting mods and tanks and building and wicking my own coils to achieve the best flavor possible. 9 week stinky free.

  3. I am addicted to the flavor! 😀
Got into vapinig because I was always smoking cigarettes when I was out on the weekend, what really annoyed me.
So I said to my self – the next time you are going to smoke in the club, you will instantly order an ecig. Couple weeks later I did. Good choice.

  4. I started vaping about 7 years ago when my friend bought me a starter kit. It had two of those skinny vape pens with the cotton type drip tip filters in them. They were messy and leaked every where but I didn’t care. I was desperate to give up cigarettes but can’t use patches due to adhesive allergy. Anyway, I was tired of smelling like an ashtray so I was thrilled to have a new way of getting my nicotine fix with the added bonus of trying those delicious new flavors.
Fast forward 7 years. Vape devices have vastly improved (no more leaky messes) and I have not smoked a cigarette since I quit 7 years ago.
