Hey Vape Fans,
Michael Sullivan here, we just returned from GwarBq this weekend and there was something I noticed that I did not expect. There seemed to be as many vapers as smokers. Going into the event I was unsure of the response myself and the rest of the Mt Baker Vapor team would receive as a presenting sponsor, however I was more than pleasantly surprised by the kindness and support of all my fellow vaping metal heads showed us.
This made me start to wonder if vaping is becoming more mainstream. There was a time not long ago where you would get bizarre looks wherever you went if you were vaping. Now it seems like most places I visit I encounter a fellow vaper. Whether we exchange some words and geek out over each others gear, or just exchange a friendly head nod it is amazing to see more and more of us “in the wild”.
The pace that this hobby has spread across the nation infiltrating every type of social group is truly amazing. This makes me wonder what it will be like in one, two, or five years from now. Will there be a role reversal where vapers are the norm and smokers are getting the funny looks? I sure hope so.
Either way, it is comforting and inspiring to see more and more people lay down their traditional cigarettes and pick up a PV.
I like to imagine a society where second hand smoke is gone, and replaced with the aroma of fruit, baked goods, and other delicious vape flavors. This goal is completely obtainable as all of you and myself continue to share our “made the switch stories”.
As I come to a close I’d like to share one of the many photos we took at the event and ask you all a question. Do you feel like you are seeing more fellow vapers in your area, and does this mean vaping is becoming more mainstream as it moves to be the norm?
