Hello, everybody! Today, I’d like to a share a little interview I did with Mt Baker Vapor co-owner, Jesse Webb. He and a few other key people in the company are participating in a circuit of sorts. They’re currently making their way throughout each and every department, working full shifts alongside Production, Marketing, and Customer Service. As someone who has vaped for a very long time, and shopped with Mt Baker Vapor well before I joined the company, it was a pretty awesome experience to spend the day with the co-owner, picking his brain, and giving him a crash course on what I do on a daily basis!
Carlos: How does it feel working closely with employees on the ground-floor level?
Jesse: Amazing! We’ve got a magnificent company and everyone has been an absolute pleasure to work with.
Carlos: Are you enjoying your time on this company-wide department circuit?
Jesse: It’s been one of the best experiences I’ve had since we started the business back in 2011. The people are great, hard-working, and dedicated to providing great service and products. It’s been an honor to work side-by-side with the best people in this industry. Everyone cares about this industry, customers, company, and their fellow employees.
Carlos: Have you noticed any key differences in the way things are now done in Arizona versus Washington?
Jesse: Temperature! Coming from and being raised solely in Washington State, where we primarily battled with the cold and working keeping our facility warm, we’re now battling the heat, which comes with its own headaches. While it has taken some time, I feel like we’re definitely turning the environment to our advantage. We’ve just completed a new solar installation that we will use to power our updated air handler that will keep our facility in the 70s (degrees Fahrenheit) while battling the Arizona Summer. We’ve always believed in sustainability, between the environment and our business, and from my viewpoint, I think we’re doing an excellent job maintaining that belief.
Carlos: What prompted you to work in each department? How did this come about?
Jesse: Honestly, we felt that there was a bit of a communication breakdown between our departments, as far as interdepartmental communication and our front line to management. I’ve always believed in tackling any issue head on, and being one of the few employees here at Mt. Baker Vapor (MBV) who has worked in every department, at some capacity, we felt I was the perfect candidate to lead this program.
Carlos: Have you learned anything new about the company?
Jesse:: Starting this program, my personal goal was to bring and support a sense of One Team, and make sure everyone felt like they were a member of the MBV Family. To my surprise, it was already in full force. Being encompassed in a dream that James and myself created over five years ago, and seeing it come to fruition just solidifies and amplifies our determination to take this company to the next level.
I would like to thank Co-Owner Jesse Webb for taking the time to answer my questions, and I hope you guys enjoyed this installment of Meet Mt Baker Vapor!
