Changes to MBV

Hello, vape fans! In this week’s Dear Summit, we are recapping the changes to MBV.  As we all know, the FDA regulations have arrived coming, and we had to make some changes. Today, I’ll be walking you through a lot of the changes we’ve made.

Bottle Sizes

We have discontinued our 236 mL bottle size.  We discontinued these bottles to ensure consistency and presentable packaging, as per the FDA demands.  It is easier to make 15 and 30 mL bottles consistent and better for our awesome customers.

Flavors, BYOJ, Flavor Shots

We had to discontinue BYOJ, flavor shots, and some of our flavors due to the FDA regulations. In the eyes of the FDA, additional flavor shots create a new unique product with each permutation, so customizable e liquid would cost an unfathomable amount of money to get approved. We had to streamline our flavor menu to keep our assessment costs realistic.

Freebies

The FDA regulations state that all freebies are illegal to distribute. This goes for social media giveaways, sampling, and our additional bottles included with starter kits. We wish this were not the case, since everyone loves trying something new.

Age Verification

The FDA now requires age verification every time you order.  We currently use BlueCheck to verify our customers are of legal vaping age.  We have a blog here that explains how to use it and make sure your order goes through.

Unless you live in CA, you will only need to verify your age once.  If you live in CA, you will need to verify your age every time.  This can change in the future, depending on what laws are passed in certain states.

    1. No more 236 bottles? Flavor shots??? I always added max flavoring to the hawk sauce. if it don’t taste the same with out all the extra shots. Guess this is good bye 😩😩😩

        1. I’ll let you guys know. But I used to add 4 flavor shots in the hawk sauce. I don’t see it tasting like that without that option of even adding one flavor shot. But you really need to get bulk back in business as well because I drip about 15-30 mils a day. That was your guys bread and butter and that’s why I bought juice from here. Seems kind of money hungry if you ask me…..but with other sites still having bigger bottle options. That’s where I’ll b till bulk is back. It makes no sense to not sell in bulk, we can buy almost everything in bulk these days….

          1. Also one more thing. I’ve never had an inconsistent bottle 236 mil or smaller. Always been on point…..so idk what’s with that saying🤔

          just certify a 236ml batch one freakin time, and do it for your 20 flavors, and then your good to go. mixing in small bottles is much harder than big bottles. trust me, i diy

But kinda pointless now when I have to wait for it to ship. And pay way more than its worth. May as well switch to premium ejuice. Thanks for the product. See ya around

        It still is a good deal. Premium juice is 20-30$ for a 30 mL. Ours is 8$. It is great to support local business and I know the shipping was slow but we have worked that out. Almost all of the orders are shipping out the day they are placed.

  2. Totally been stocking up as changes were coming, and have yet to decide who exactly will be getting my business from here on out,
    but it will only be 2 or 3 places. Thank you MBV for 3 years of a great company that supplied me with my vaping needs as they kept changing. Toward the end I was only buying certain juice to mix in your 236 ml size, and a handful of other things. I totally remember fondly the days of requesting your sample juice in nicotine mg level, and how slowly but surely things just kept getting taken away. I’ve moved on to diy but I never would have prior to this year. Vaping will never, ever be the same for both consumers and businesses ever again. Not fond of your recent changes both before and after August 8th, but do wish you the best of luck.

  4. I’m not 100% sure I’ll be staying a faithful customer as these regulations have caused more headache then flying. I’m spending as much through you guys now as my vape shop near me with the cost of shipping and the wait of 5 days to receive my juice when I live in Arizona where it is distributed from..

    1. If you are close to Mesa, you can always come in and grab the same great product at the same price. We are trying to get the orders out faster and do apologize for the wait.

  5. Although i am upset over the 236 going to me its kinda a double edge sword. I always seem to get the wrong juice every 2 3 orders so hopefully QC will get alot better with the new system, I will say you ALWAYS corrected the issue in a timely matter and being that i started with MBV when i decided to stop smoking i will still be a loyal customer to the end.

    1. That is exactly why we had to discontinue them for now. The consistency was not always the same. Our customer service is one of the best CS teams I have worked alongside. We will always be here for you!

  8. It’s pathetic that the FDA is owned by big business (tobacco and pharma) and those businesses want to keep us smoking and sick.

    If it weren’t for MBV I’d still be smoking. It’s been over 3 years now and yall have a customer for life in me. I’ll roll with what ever changes yall have to make to meet the standards of these evil people.

  9. It is a shame that the FDA is dictating to us about what we can and can not do. I am happy to see you looking forward to your business and the needs of all of us who made the choice to quit smoking and turn to vaping, best choice my family and I ever made and tossed out the nasty tobacco cigarettes. I love your e-juice flavors, and miss the freebies but life goes on. I get most of my supplies from MBV and never have been disappointed.
    You have our loyalty always. All of you at MT Baker Vapor are wonderful and yes you have the best customer service and very speedy delivery. Let us all keep up the fight against the FDA rulings and help them to get educated on vaping and not listen to the big tobacco companies and the others who don’t understand but have a negative opinion about vaping and the people who choose to vape. I don’t know how the suits at the FDA can say that vapes deserve more regulations than cigarettes and still make the argument that they are trying to help people, and that they aren’t in big tobacco’s pocket. Ah well, perhaps someone will get a clue and rescind these outrageous regulation. Until then 30ml bottle will have to do.

  12. I don’t understand how flavors, fall under the FDA regulations as its food…Is it because you say its e-cigarette flavoring. Anyway I will continue to order every now and then but not really into pre-mixed juice anymore. Thanks again for helping me to stop smoking…You all Rock!!

    2. It’s the Food and Drug Administration… Both Food flavoring and flavoring mixed with drugs would logically fall under the FDA.

  13. Little disappointed to see my 236ml bottles go away but I understand how much of a pain in the butt the FDA is, my only question is why is there only 50/50 or max VG? Guess I can just get the 50/50 and mix with max VG myself… but I will remain a loyal customer! Guabana Berry is my Fav!

      We totally understand your disappointment. Thanks to our old friends at the FDA, every variation in our juice causes it to seen as a “new” item requiring a new sku and therefore new testing. The cost for the additional item and its testing can run in the millions of dollars. AS the consumer you should be able to order and receive exactly what you want but our hands are tied as we are forced to play in the new FDA sandbox. We appreciate your patronage and will do everything we can to keep moving forward in the battle against the Deeming Regulations.

  14. It’s been a good run. I’ve made several orders, and loved the juices.

    But the age verification gets me. I am 25, and bluecheck is requiring a selfie of me and my ID. Not going to happen. NEVER.

    It’s a shame too. I’ve ordered from several other places that have just required the same basic info bluecheck does for people over 27. Sorry MBV but the system you’ve chosen to put into place has cost you another customer. If you change it in the future I’ll be back, but I am not submitting a picture of myself and my ID with all my info to a supposid “verification” company.

    1. I do apologize for the information we need. When you do submit your picture ID, it is a one-time ordeal. I wish we did not have to have a system in place but this is one that covers us from every angle.

My disappointment comes in the cost difference….when I bought the 236mL size, I was paying an average of $0.14 per mL…..now that I have to change to the 15mL or 30mL sizes…I will be paying almost double or triple ($0.33 per mL for 15mL size or $0.27 per mL for the 30mL size) the price for my product…..and right now you are out of the 30mL sizes so I am forced to order the 15mL sizes to get my juice….that’s what really upsets me the most…the pricing….it is SO unfair to the consumer!!

  18. Like most i am extremely disappointed in the 236ML bottles being discontinued. Now that I’ll have to spend double the money to buy the equivalent volume in 30ML bottles I am no longer sure that I can afford to continue supporting your business. Best of luck to you all and thank you for your part in keeping me off of cigarettes for almost 3 years now. Hopefully I can continue staying cigarette free now that it looks like the monthly cost of vaping will now exceed the monthly cost of cigarettes.

    1. I do apologize for the big bottles going away. Depending on how much you vape, it is still is cheaper than smoking. Try and stay smoke free 🙁

    1. Have you tried the new Blue Labels? I have been told because they are pre-steeped, they taste better and do not need them.

  19. Are there any plans to update pricing for larger orders? Thankfully the flavor I order from you has not disappeared but the price difference between what I historically paid for a 236ml bottle and 8x 30ml bottles is staggering. Almost double the price!   20. Why have all the DIY flavors gone away, along with the sweetener and other additives? I could deal with buying a few bottles and making my on mixes now that the BYOJ is gone, but I can’t do that without the sweetener. Other e-cig sites are still selling it. Why are y’all?

    1. We discontinued them for now. The reason we discontinued them is because we are batching all of our liquids and we cannot batch the flavors. We may bring them back in the future.

      1. Honestly, I just need sweetener. I can buy the premixed flavors and make them up how I want them, but without the sweetener, I can’t do that.

    2. I came to Mt. Baker today looking to re-order on DIY stuff that I literally just got started doing on July 27th…all of a sudden there’s no DIY section. I look online furiously, only to find a small edit to a blog post from Mt. Baker indicating that as of August 4th, they won’t supply DIY.

      I’ve been a loyal customer for a year and a half because of the excellent service, quality, and cost of products, but that was the line for me. I didn’t get so much as an email, nor did I see anything in the way of news about why they did what they did. They didn’t offer a place to go in the meantime for us who’ve gotten used to DIY, and that was it for me.

      I literally just sent a support ticket indicating my disdain for this action, my decision to avoid Mt. Baker purchases in the future, and the loss of my endorsement amongst vapers in the NEPA region (of whom I’ve gotten at least 15 or so people to become “regulars” with Mt. Baker. I don’t know what possessed this sudden lack of connection with their customer base, but I don’t like or appreciate sudden, swift changes with no notice, no opportunity to continue my DIY elsewhere, etc.

      Thankfully, a quick google search relieved my troubles when I realized I could purchase pre-mixed e-liquid by the gallon for less than $40. I am quite troubled by whomever is making the big decisions at Mt. Baker. Seems like they are just entirely ignorant of how their decisions affect their customers.

  21. please explain to us how the removal of the multi-bottle option [10 X 30ml of one flavor]
    is also the fault of the FDA.
    i’m genuinely curious.

    1. We’ve changed our processes to accommodate FDA’s standards. This change in manufacturing has caused some issues with our inventory. We’re working to bring you bulk prices, but I can’t quote you on how soon that will be. We’re working very hard, and change is a lot of work.

  22. I noticed that the option for 5×30 and 10×30 mL bottles are missing. Have you guys phased them out or are you planning on bringing back the bulk stock offer?

  23. Well because of these changes, I plan on making my last step in my vaping experience. For the last year and a half I only vaped unflavored juice. I dont want to move back to flavored juices altough many of the juices are great. And I definitely dont want to go back to smoking. So as the last of my 236 ml bottle of juice is depleted Im moving on to the zen stage of vaping, which is complete nicotine cessation. Thank you so much MBV for being a company I could rely on. Just another thing in a long line of history this wonderful country of ours has meddled with and taken away from it’s citizens. I remember when vaping was fun and new. All too soon it has been cut short. Thank you for giving me an option MBV other than cigarettes, thank you for all of your hard work.

  24. The age verification process is the worst. Too bad we can’t just video chat our order and show our ID to the rep taking the order. Although I don’t know how secure that would be.

    1. Believe me, if age verification were optional, we wouldn’t make our customers go through this. In the new regulated situation, we all have to play ball. Thanks for your insights!

  25. Can you speak more to why the 236 Ml bottles were discontinued? While I am sympathetic to the FDA enforcing these very unfair regulations I am not really drawing a line between those and the reasons why that would effect the size bottles you sell. I have been with you guys for over 3 years and really love your company but this unfortunate change has made me look elsewhere to be able to buy the quantities I need at a price the I can afford.

    1. The FDA regulations have forced us to change up our processes, with an emphasis on consistency. Unfortunately, 236 mL bottles didn’t make the cut for our new processes. We are working on a way to deliver larger quantities, so be sure to stay tuned for updates!

      1. I will stay tuned… but 34.99 for my last 236 bottle vs 64 bucks for 8 30 bottle is a very very large price increase. It makes me want to look elsewhere which I really don’t want to do. You guys are so great. Hopefully something happens. I just don’t understand the price increase and haven’t seen it explained here.

  26. The huge flavor line up was what made and kept me a MPV customer. No more freebies, no menthol, no flavor shots… the FDA, while only doing their job, SUCKS!

  27. Unfortunately I do not understand all the changes they are making, however, I enjoy your products. I will be keeping an eye on when the larger bottles come back, which is hopefully soon because I too may not be able to afford to continue vaping. I am very thankful that I am cigarette free for the last few months, I just pray it stays that way since it’s getting harder to get what we want from you guys. Good luck!

  28. A very sad day indeed. I’m relatively new to MBV. Your prices, variety, sizes and flavor are what drew me here. At least you still have good flavor and good prices :/

    Question for you though: If you’re selling nicotine free flavoring, are you still required to register it with the FDA? It’s not a drug at that point…

      Unfortunately the FDA still considers it a tobacco product and it falls within the new Deeming Regulations. Thanks FDA!

  29. I’m bummed that I cannot add extra flavor shots anymore as I feel that I need the extra shots to get the flavor I crave. I will still continue to purchase juice as it’s the best deal. But I will miss the extra flavor shots.

    1. Sorry about that Rosa. Unfortunately the flavor shots were a victim of the FDA Regulations. Adding a flavor shot constitutes a new “custom” flavor. We apologize for the inconvenience…mean old FDA!

  30. I’ve read all the new rules what a bunch of BS, The most amazing part is that the FDA can regulate a product which does not even come from a tobacco plant as a tobacco product. As far as I know most of the Nicotine in vaping juice does not come from a tobacco plant, unless I’ve been misinformed. I hope the lawsuits can show there is no legal authority to regulate a non-tobacco product as one.

    However what I do find annoying is the excuses.

    There is only one vague reference to PMTA and another kinda sorta explanation of the process. Maybe if you had actually explained that in the blog or provided a link you would have less people being upset.

    As for the removal of the 236ml, At the very least an email detailing these changes should have been sent out to customers long before the change was made to allow people to stock up. People claiming the 236’s are problematic, out of 3 years and 20 odd 236’s I’ve had only 1 problem.

    As far as the bulk orders go, it is not difficult, the FDA does not say what you have to charge for your juices. This did not just happen 5 days ago, you have known for quite a while this was coming and you still have no bulk order plan? Who is in charge of this company anyway? Again the lack of real information from people who are suppose to know is very disconcerting.

    Right now no one completely understands or knows the full extent of what is allowed as the FDA takes it all case by case and until either the lawsuits push back or the FDA sets clearer boundaries everyone is playing it very safe to not avoid getting a huge fine.

    Thankfully, I know a couple of owners of vape shops, so I can easily still get bulk juice/flavorings via that route. But not all of your customers are this lucky.

    If you wish to keep your customers happy you need to do a better job, remember from one business owner to another, no customers means no business!

      I can’t disagree with anything you mentioned. The FDA has created a total mess. They’ve out kicked their coverage on this measure. The fact that they are extending their regs to encompass NON tobacco juice is a complete head scratcher! Seem’s they’re not sure what is what when it comes to vaping so they paint the entire industry with a wide brush. They don’t take into account ALL the people that have left traditional smoking or any of successes they’ve experienced by making the switch. I really fear for these folks.

      As for the 236ml bottles, I don’t really understand why they are not being produced. I’ve read many posts like yours and understand displeasure. I hope they can be brought back sometime but I don’t know of any plan to do so at the moment.

      I am truly sorry. It has been a difficult transition with the FDA and what we’ve been forced to do. In regards to the 236ml bottles, I see these comments daily and I personally wish there was something I could do. I don’t fully understand what went into the elimination of the big bottles. I do know that MANY of our customers have been effected by the change. As a team member that sees these boards, I hope that the overwhelming response will lead to a return of the big bottles but there not currently a plan in place for it.

      1. Taking off 236ml was no issue if only 5x30ml and 10x30ml were still options. Recently they’ve been taken off also. Any idea why?

        1. We understand that bulk e liquid sizes are popular options and are working to implement replacements for these sizes. At this time we do not have further details regarding exact dates or product specifications.

        2. There is currently a hold on the 5 & 10 packs as the stock was consumed. It is highly likely we will continue to offer them once we are restocked.

            I had to place an order of 8 packs (5 grapes + 2 strawbanana + 1 raspberry), it came up to ~$55 after discount, vs before when I ordered identical volume for ~$30.

            Please make a proper announcement once the bulk order discount is back, because words spread fast, and people with a tight budget are being forced to look for other options when the deal is not nearly good as it used to be. MVB didn’t explain publicly (except when asked here) when bulk options were taken off, but it’d better make a proper announcement when the option is back to let everyone know BIG TIME!

            BYOJ was definitely one competitive advantage for your business, but I can only imagine the bulk order to be even a bigger cake. People are attracted to large volume at power price like nails to a rare earth magnets!

  32. The removal of the 236ml bottles is literally the worst thing that could of happened to MBV. The freebies going away really sucks, but the big bottles were literally the best deal I’ve ever seen. I hope you guys can finagle a way to get bigger bottles than 30ml because this was one of the best things you guys had going for you. These are dark times.

  33. TMaxx No Frills and BigBottleCo are still shipping and mfg large bottles, 120ml, same price. You didn’t have to change your practice right away, you could have kept the same process for up to a year before filing and then another year while it was being processed. The juice is flavorless without the shots, it always needed an extra shot to get any flavor, even after a few weeks of steeping. Can you all at least look back at other weak flavors and bump them up a little? I cannot use the regular flavor so I have to go back to what I did before mbv

    1. We are proactive instead of reactive and that is why we made these changes. We are looking at a way to bring back the bulk pricing but we do not have anything set in stone. Which flavors are less flavorful to you now? I can always ask our R&D department to look at them and see what we can do.

      1. Most of the fruit one’s, like strawberry, berrycreamy, grape, etc.. Within a vape pen they almost taste like they are supposed to after a few weeks but in a sub-ohm tank it is flavorless. The standard 30ml should go away from all MFG’s of ejuice. They are ridiculously small in this day and age when I get to refill my tank 5-6 times before the bottle is empty, 60mls a week is normal for a sub-ohm tank. I do not see myself spending $64.00 for the same amount when it used to be $38.00, that is what brought me to MBV in the first place.

        Also, if you have a machine now doing the mixing to get proper ratios then that should make it that much easier to produce larger sizes, not the reverse as you all stated.

  34. This is all so unfortunate. ): Looks like I’ll be making my own now. It’s been great doing business with you for these last few years, but now that the 236ml option is gone, unfortunately, I will have to move on to other cheap methods. Best of luck in the future everyone.

    1. I do apologize for the discontinuation of the 236 mLs. We are working on a bulk package but nothing is set in stone for the time being. We will let everyone know if and when everything changes so keep an eye out!

      1. You are contradicting your colleague. He says 5x30ml and 10x30ml is very likely to return but only absent at the moment due to insufficient stock. BTW those were the “bulk pricing” your were looking or “bulk package” you were working on.

From the information I was told the reason the 10 x 30ml options were removed was due to the fact that there wasn’t enough inventory to meet demands due to MBV now pre-steeping the Blue Label e-liquid. I actually placed my order prior to the new FDA regulations starting and to my dismay I was informed my order had to be cancelled due to a lack of inventory.

    I was told was MBV is hoping to reinstate the ability of customers to make “bulk purchases,” but it may be several weeks / months due to the fact that MBV has to “build up” their inventory to ensure they are able to meet demand. Personally, I would like the option to purchase the e-liquid without it being steeped since I typically made my purchases in advance to allow my juice time to steep. All it would take is to be informed of the “recommended steep time” and they would be able to sale juice that’s made on the same day rather than having to build up their inventory. That’s just my opinion.

    When you look at it on a business perspective, it doesn’t make sense to restrict the earliest you’ll be able to sale a product. For example: If they sold out of all of their products (and IF, just for example, they steep their juice for 4 weeks) the business would have to wait 4 weeks before they are able to bring in any revenue. I don’t know of many businesses who are able to continue operating effectively without a steady influx revenue.

    Don’t get me wrong, I like the Blue Label, but I would rather have the option to steep the juice myself rather than having to wait for the bulk option to be reinstated OR have to pay a lot more and buying 300ml now is A LOT MORE. Prior to the new FDA regulations purchasing in bulk cost 15.25 cents per ml. After the new FDA regulations purchasing in bulk (which was only available for a very short time) cost 16.67 cents per ml. Now, due to the discontinuation of the ability to purchase in bulk, if you purchase the same quantity as a bulk order (300ml) the current “non-bulk” pricing costs 26.63 cents per ml. In comparison to the last available price (16.67 cents per ml) the current price per ml (26.63 cents per ml) has risen by approximately 60%.

    I plan on staying an MBV customer. However, I do not plan on making another order until the ability to make “bulk” purchases is reinstated. I just hope I have enough juice built up to last me until MBV reinstates the ability to purchase in bulk.

    1. Everything you said here is correct. The steeping can become a problem for some businesses and we are trying to manage it accordingly. It is new to us and we thought we had enough. We were obviously wrong lol. What we are doing now is working on getting everything back in stock and seeing if there is a way we can offer bulk without killing the whole inventory. Our prices were super cheap before and we would love to get back at that stage again. Keep an eye out for any changes that might be happening to us in the future.

  36. Well MBV I have been a loyal customer for over 4 years and it looks like I am moving onto some one else. In the beginning with your company I went through the trial and error process to find the liquids I loved. And when I did I became a loyal customer of those liquids. Sadly, you have discontinued most of the ones I LOVED so much. So today SADLY I place my last order with your company and move onto searching for my next e-juice supplier. In the beginning I must have referred over 10+ people to your company and alot of family members who are now vaping. And we have all decided to move on. Dont know how you came up with the flavors to keep…..and the ones to ditch. But you ditched more of the ones I like and kept very few of the ones I love. Cant see spending my money now to buy 1 or 2 bottles…not to mention you cant even add extra shots or create your own flavor. BYE MT BAKER….Its been a good few years!!

  38. I’m sorry to say, I believe mt baker vapor stopped selling 236 ml, not because of the FDA but, because they are being greedy. Sadly, the plan will most likely back fire when they lose most of their customers.

    1. We are definitely working on a way that our system can handle bulk pricing. We do not have anything set in stone at the moment but we are definitely working on it! It is not about money. If we had the bulk pricing, we would be selling a lot more and that means more money.

  39. This is really unfortunate. I understand how ridiculous and frustrating the FDA’s new rules are for everyone (it’s what happens when tobacco lobbyists are allowed to write legislation to protect their stranglehold on the market). My understanding was that for the first two years there was a freeze on products that were already being made (i.e., everyone can keep doing what they’re doing for two years while they submit stuff for approval). I get that everyone is going to need to pare down their offerings due to the staggering cost of the approval process for each product (up to $1M per product), I just don’t get why MBV is jumping the gun instead of taking advantage of the two-year window.

    Nevertheless I appreciate your being forthcoming, and I trust that you wouldn’t have done this if it wasn’t necessary. I was looking forward to continuing to purchase your unflavored base along with my favorite flavors to mix my own, as while I do like MBV flavors my issue has always been that the pre-mixed stuff is completely overpowering and I can’t stomach it all day. I mix mine with far less flavor (10-12% usually) making it much more subtle, which has worked well for me.

    Tonight I placed an order for 10 30ml bottles of two of my favorites, which I plan to cut down with the remains of the two bottles of base I had left. After that…I don’t know. Not sure where we all go from here.

    I’m so sorry this is happening to your business. We’re all feeling this pain together; although, to be fair, for me it’s not my livelihood, it’s just a product I enjoy. I’m sure the sting is much, much greater when its your business on the line.

    Thanks for all the great service and great products. As I said, I’m not sure where to go next (except, for now, back to a much more expensive shop I was using before someone turned me on to MBV; they’re an excellent shop with outstanding offerings, just pricey). I’ll definitely be checking back now and then to see if you’ve solved the bulk pricing problem, but I’d have to find another supplier of unflavored base with which to dilute the MBV stuff.

    I hope I can find a way to come back as a customer. Until then, keep on fighting, and I truly wish you all the very best!

  40. Have been with you all for several years and have spent $1000 in that time but I will be looking for another supplier if prices can’t be lowered for bulk purchasing.

    I understand the regulations have unfairly limited your business model. But for prices to double seems like an opportunity to gouge and I cannot afford it.

    Please reconsider your pricing structure on bulk purchases or find a way to re-introduce bulk buying. I can’t be alone in wanting this.

  41. Thanks for the couple years as a customer. It’s very dishonest to say you do not have enough stock for the 10 bottle juice discount, but you can let me order 10 of them separately. I was dubious when I first saw the 236ml bottles disappear from your store then, and dealt with the moderate price / ml $0.15/ml to $0.17/ml increase. Now I’ve come back for my reorder and your asking $0.27/ml! While this might be in line with some other merchants prices, I came, stayed here and recommended your business to others based on price alone. Sadly because of this I will finally take the dive in DIY and use other suppliers. Thanks while it lasted.

In your article “How to Prepare for FDA Regulations” ( http://blog.mtbakervapor.com/prepare-fda-regulations/ ) dated June 21, 2016, you state “Don’t Stockpile! … After August 8, 2016, the only thing really changing will be the market freeze… you do not need to worry about e-juice disappearing off our shelves.”

    While it seems you have plenty of juice on the shelves, your company was certainly quick to remove the larger bulk juice ordering options. We were purposefully mislead at that point in time to not place orders on the old better price per ounce offerings and given a false sense of security so that we would not have time to prepare for the sudden increase in costs either by stockpiling at better prices or by seeking out alternative supplies in advance.

    Shame.

  43. What John said on 9/10/16 is all true. I’m am very saddened that I’ll be paying like twice as much for less than half of the juice, through MBV. I really wanted MBV to succeed, but didn’t know it would mean decimating my pocketbook in the process. I didn’t know these changes were coming, so today I was caught off-guard. I’m placing an order for half of what I normally buy (paying much more), and then I’ll spend the next couple of weeks looking for a new vender for the interim. I’ll continue to check back on MBV pricing, in the hopes it becomes affordable again to buy bulk.

    MBV will always hold a special place in my heart for giving me nearly 2 years off the analogs. Thanks again!

  44. After reading all the complaining and the excuses I feel a little better about not having the 236 mil bottles. But you guys need to get them back into production because a lot of people who quit smoking wanted part of the advantage to be saving money.
    And since it would appear that you removed them not as a regulation but as an adjustment to your lineup hopefully you’ll see how much business you’re going to lose and get them back.
    Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do something for your customers just so you can keep them. Until they come back I can’t buy from you and that sucks because I’ve been buying from only you guys for a while now. When they come back so will I.

  45. I really liked MBV for their large bottle size – it was economical for me and I would order 4 large bottles at a time. I can do without the extra flavor shots but the big bottles was a big selling point for me. I have just placed a large order elsewhere that sells large sizes and will certainly continue with MBV from time to time but overall I now order elsewhere. Perhaps down the road the larger sizes will be added back.

  46. Why only MT Baker being told not to do the 236ml? There is other sites that still offer the big bottles. And I have been ordering my goods with them. I really wanted to keep my business with MB but I have to watch for the best deals. Sorry.. but I have to get the goods at the best price. I did the math and in order to get the same ML at the 30ML price it will cost double… why the hike? Same amount of juice.. just more bottles and they don’t cost that much. Can’t do double.

As a response to a new era of regulation and our desire to keep our product consistent while keeping customer safety a high priority, MBV has moved to an automated process to meet the demands of the Federal Government, to keep our commitment to consistency and to ensure a safe product. Unfortunately, with the move to automation in an effort to meet our goals, MBV had to eliminate the 8oz option. I do apologize for the change in bottle sizes.

Not going to be buying much from MBV anymore, I go through juice quickly and the 236ml bottles have been a blessing… Now that they’re gone I will be taking the majority of my business to other websites that offer large bottles. Only going to be buying marked down items from MBV from this point on, maybe the occasional hawk sauce. Definitely will be missing flavor shots as well.

  49. I have come across some strange things since all the ‘changes’ and it’s not quite adding up to me. The one that bugs me the most ….. Many times I can order 6 15ml in Black Ice but can not order 3 30ml?! I called and was told, we are out of Black Ice 30ml but do have 15ml in stock. If you make the juice there what is the issue? It’s been happening quite often and I’m finding it very strange. One time I even ordered the 30 ml and after 2 weeks I never received the order (I was kindly given a credit) when I called to questions this I was told “Sorry, we ran out of the 30ml but you can cxl this order and then go order the 15ml” Seriously? No one could figure out to contact me nor grab enough 15ml to fill my darn order?! Seriously … there is something strange happening to MBV. PLEASE fix it! I’ve always loved the service in before Spring 2016!

    1. Since the switch to an automated process, our inventory system is in a state of flux. 30 mL bottles are different products than 15 mL bottles, and both are restocked on a different schedule. Thanks for your patience during this transitional time.

  50. Here’s my gripe… and I don’t think you can blame this one on the FDA. For the longest time a 15ml bottle was like $3-4 and a 30ml bottle was like $7-8, while a 236ml was $30ish (which was the vapenist deal in all the world). Now however you’ll give a 20% discount if I order 10 bottles (300 ml) which works out to be like $60-70. So, it looks like MBV is making around $30 on an extra 60ml. What is stopping you from providing your customers who have enjoyed your products, good pricing and brought you ungodly amounts of business through word of mouth advertising, with the same deal as before? I don’t see any reason why you can’t sell us 8 / 30ml bottles (240ml total) for a little bit more than the $30ish that you sold us 1 / 236ml bottle. Your 20% discount is a poor attempt a price gouging. I quit smoking to save money, and your new prices make it nearly as expensive. I’ve found other places that sell 120ml bottles for around $20 which is a far better deal than yours. Come on MBV do the right thing and you’ll keep our business, or you might be trying to find new customers when the FDA gets defeated on all these regulations.

One of the biggest changes being a switch to automated manufacturing that limits our flexibility of bottle sizes and a restriction on creating new e-juice flavors.   51. I am noticing that alot of flavours no longer offer the option of max VG in 18 or 12 mg. I usually Vape butter pecan, max VG 18mg…the closest you now offer is 6mg…I also notice this with moo juice and banana cream pie…VERY FRUSTRATING!!! I am lost as to what to order now. I am not a fan of the popular cinnamon or menthol type flavours, so my choice is limited – not mentioning the price increase or former 236ml. What do I do?

    Why was unflavored juice discontinued? It certainly is not considered a “new product,” as, well, there are obviously no new flavors in it. Also, I can’t imagine a juice that would be easier to keep consistent than one with no flavors. Similarly, if/since it is indeed easier to keep consistent, why not also continue to sell it in the 236 ml size?

    The only thing I can think of that would make sense is that due to economies of scale, selling just one product in the 236 ml size makes the costs prohibitive, and the demand for 30 ml bottles of unflavored juice is very low?

    1. This is a two-pronged issue. Per the FDA regulations, soon be required to file Premarket Tobacco Applications. Essentially, these applications may or may not allow us to market a new product. With the incredibly large variety of e-liquid we offered, it is not financially feasible to apply for the plethora of PMTAs required. We have narrowed our e-liquid down to our top-selling flavors. By some estimates, the cost for submitting a PMTA is upwards of 1.5 million dollars. (FD&C Act Section 905(a)(2))

  53. No more 236ml bottles is a huge disappointment. I understand that you are offering bulk discounts, but ultimately this still translates into about a 23.5% price increase after the discount. I used to order a 236ml bottle every couple of months for about $40 after shipping, which kept the cost of my vaping habit nice and low. Now any way you cut it, I have to spend about $64 + shipping, in order to maintain the same habit usage. At the standard price that $64 would equal 240ml, so that works out to almost a 60% price increase per ml. Granted the discount allows me to get an extra 60ml for the same cost, so it helps to offset some of that increase, but at the end of the day I still have to put more cash on the table to fill my order each time. Most likely I’ll end up ordering less, which will cost me more, while seeking a cheaper alternative. I understand that this is not Mt Baker’s fault, and I don’t point the blame at you. This is the end result of having a greedy, overreaching, liberal government, who thinks they have the right to dictate how Americans live out their lives. Hopefully with the new administration coming in, these regulations will be eliminated, otherwise they are going to keep hurting the consumers, and in turn hurting businesses like yourselves. I don’t envy the position you are in, and I’ve always been a loyal customer since I first found Mt Baker, but I really hope that you guys are able to find a way to make this situation work better for your customers.
