MT BAKER VAPOR — What inspires you?

When Hurricane Harvey made landfall in coastal Texas as a Category 4 hurricane, I received a phone call in the middle of the night from a good friend asking that I pray for him and his family. He was a newlywed at the time and had just moved into his first home. As the storm battered his city and neighborhood, sleep was impossible. Every minute of every day was spent watching the water, hoping against hope that his home would be spared. But then the water came. First it was his small residential street that turned into a river. Then the sidewalks, his lawn and ultimately his driveway. But by good luck, fortune or perhaps simply timing, the levels began to drop just as the water started to creep up his front steps.

The City of Vaperly Love?

Famously known as the “City of Brotherly Love”, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the vape scene in particular, could use a nice big bear hug… or better yet, a break from the levy of taxes imposed by the state legislature last year which has had a detrimental effect on the industry.

Make The Switch

Now seems like a good time to make the switch…

The New York Minimum Wage Act (Article 19 of the New York State Labor Law) requires that all employees in the state of New York receive at least the applicable hourly Minimum wage rate. Per New York State Department of Labor General Minimum Wage Rate Schedule, minimum wage rates increase on an annual basis.

The last time New York City workers saw a minimum wage rate change was on December 31st, 2016, increasing what was once a $9.00 an hour base rate to $11.00 per hour (NYC – Large Employers of 11 or more). The next rate change is scheduled to take effect on December 31st of 2017, increasing the minimum wage rate to $13.00 an hour. Exactly the same amount of money cigarette users in New York City will have to dish out for a pack of smokes in the coming year.

That’s right. New York City is boosting the price of a pack of cigarettes from $10.50 to $13.00, in its ongoing crackdown on smoking. And while the hike is set to take effect June 1st of 2018, there is no better time than NOW to make the switch to vaping.

System Overhauled

A Cleaner, Friendlier, Less Invasive Age Verification System Has Arrived!

Before we ascend the highest mountaintop to announce the new and improved verification system to the masses; there are a few items we’d like to get off our chest.

It’s no surprise that for the longest time, any mention of the verification system infamously known as BlueCheck would spark instant outrage. Customers near and far felt that the verification system was too invasive, too tedious, too redundant and just an overall pain in the gluteus maximus.

Heat, not burn?

Could the FDA rule change push smokers to vaping?

If you are new to vaping, all you need to know is that e-cigarettes heat liquid nicotine, which then becomes vapor. They don’t contain carbon monoxide and tar, which are just some of the many chemicals in cigarettes that can severely compromise a person’s health.

Vaping in 2017 And Beyond

The Future Of Vaping: What Does It Look Like? What Could It Look Like?

As Forrest once said, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” He has a point. Oh wait. Wasn’t it mama Gump who told Forrest the quote?

Whatever the case may be, things change constantly and unless you’re a clairvoyant with the ability to predict the future, you won’t truly know what tomorrow will bring with 100% certainty.

Was It Worth The 99 Year Wait?

June 8th, 1918.

A few months short of a century has passed since the last time a total solar eclipse was visible across the entire contiguous United States. Surely, I wasn’t alive then. Or anyone else in my close circle for the matter. The most recent total eclipse visible in just parts of the US; Hawaii and certain areas of Mexico to be exact, took place some 39 years ago, on July 11, 1979.
